I am someone who feels more at peace and in my comfort zone if I am asking questions about you. So I will keep this short & sweet as our time is very valuable.
I grew up in a small rural town called St. Croix Falls, WI with my lovely family. I am a frist generation college
student with an A.A. from Inver Hills Community College and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a B.A. in Political Science and Global Studies with a focus of Human Rights and minor in Leadership. As a student, I had the opportunity to begin my research under the direction of the esteemed researchers from the Urban Research and Outreach Engagement Center, located in North Minneapolis.
I am a community-based participatory action researcher and evaluator by training. I have worked on numerous projects based on complex social and health-related issues, including human trafficking (sex & labor), sexual exploitation, youth trading sex, sexual assault, domestic violence, youth violence, racial equity, and community-wellbeing. I have worked on trans-disciplinary teams ranging from academics, to survivors, to law enforcement. I enjoy using diverse approaches to tackle tough questions, such as Youth Participatory Action Research, mixed methods, or longitudianl.

TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICE
Trauma-informed practice is essential to this work. This understanding means that lives and experiences of the community you are trying to work with are taken at the forefront. Their realities are harsh, uncomfortable, and highly stigmatized. It is key for a researcher & evaluator to have in-depth knowledge of the trauma they experience, in order to provide care that works best for them. Trauma-informed care improves engagement, implementation, and wellness outcomes.
Virtual Engagement & Promotion
Utilizing the virtaul world can be key in sharing your messages, disseminating your program findings, and building relationships with others. By having the expertise of branding, algorithms, online culture, and more I can provide you with adequate virtual engagement practices. These skills can help your organization build a social media presence that is privy to your targeted audience- whether that's youth, historically marginalized commmunities, funders, other organizations and more.
RIGOROUS PROJECT DEVELOPMENT & COORDINATION
Time management, organization, and clear communication are the foundation to project development and coordination. I spent years managing research projects since their inception to their completion. This means that I can assist you with the skills needed to write your grants, go through your IRB process, connect with your community members, recruit your participants, analyze your data, disseminate your findings and create your resources.
TRAINING & EDUCATION
I believe that the root to most issues is lack of education or training. Ask any youth if they think they know what human trafficking really is, or if they know how to report sexual assault. The way to engage with these complex problems means providing the community with the tools and knowledge they need to make healthy and informed decisions about their lives. I have experience and passion of translating tough scientific language into digestible and understandable information for adolescents, community members, families, schools, and more.
TRANSDISCIPLINARY COMMUNICATION
If there is anything that I learned about working with communities on these issues, its that there is a need for coordinated partnership across sectors. I've learned that with focused team-building, intentional relationship building, communication, trust, and creating a safe place to express yourself, leaves more room for collaboration and a deeper impact.
